At Creating Families Together.org, we're not just about lending a hand during periods of difficulty; we believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from mutual support.
Over the years, we have curated an extensive list of resources for our clients. We have decided to share some of these resources for anyone who may be facing a challenging time, or knows someone who is.
If you find yourself in need of basic necessities such as food and clothing, Catholic Charities (123 E 14th Street, Long Beach, CA 90813, call 562-591-1351) and Goodwill Industries (800 West Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90806, call 562-435-3411) are always ready to help.
For mental health support, there are various helplines to turn to. The Los Angeles County Dept of Mental Health ACCESS HOTLINE provides support 24/7 at 1-800-854-7771. Alternatively, the Crisis Text Line offers free crisis support via text. Simply text LA to 741741 to connect with a trained crisis counselor.
If you or anyone you know is grappling with suicidal thoughts, The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-8255) connects you to a local crisis center, providing confidential help from a trained crisis worker.
Should the need for shelter or transitional housing arise, New Image Emergency Shelter (401 E. Ocean Blvd, Suite 705, Long Beach, CA, 90802, call 562-983-7289) and Project Achieve Emergency Shelter (123 E. 14th Street, Long Beach, CA 90813, call 562-218-9864) offer vital services.
